FAQ

If you have the following on or in your ducts, they can't be cleaned!

Can you clean ducts that contain asbestos?

  • No, we can't clean them

  • They need to be sealed, removed or left alone entirely

  • Cleaning them will disturb the fibres in the tape

What you can doto prepare forthe furnace & duct cleaning

  • Dogs, cats, and other animals need to be secured prior to the crew’s arrival in a safe place like a kennel, or taken outside for a walk. Doors and windows will be open during the cleaning and we don’t want your furry family members escaping! Cleanings can be a stressful time for your animals and we do our best to be considerate.

  • Please move all breakables away from supply vents and cold air returns (lamps on end tables, art work, etc.). All vents and grills must be accessible for the crew; items such as televisions, china cabinets and pianos should be moved prior to the crew’s arrival if needed.

  • Please make sure the area around the furnace is clear and accessible (approx. 3-4' all around when possible).

  • Stairways should be free and clear of all items.

  • All rooms must be accessible to the crew for the duration of the cleaning. Please ensure everyone in the household is up and finished getting ready for the day so that bedrooms and bathrooms are available.

What can I do to prepare for a dryer vent cleaning?

  • Please make sure the laundry room is accessible and tidy; sometimes we need to get inside to clean

  • If you have animals in the yard, the Clean My Air crew will need them safely in the house for this process.
